Reading and using garden tools
You can read the guides without an account. Bookmarks, checklists, and garden-planner tasks are stored in your own browser using local storage. They are not synced to our server. Clearing browser storage removes them. The crop finder and soil calculator run in your browser.
First-party visitor measurement
We count eligible page requests on our own server to understand which guides are useful. We do not set an analytics cookie or send this measurement to an advertising analytics service. To estimate daily unique visitors, the server processes an IP address and browser user-agent into a hash that changes daily. Raw IP addresses and full user-agent strings are not stored in the analytics tables. Short-lived hashes are deleted on a daily schedule after approximately two to three days. Aggregate daily counts, page counts, and external referring hostnames are retained for up to 25 months. Referring paths and query strings are not stored by this analytics feature.
Known bots, signed-in users, and browsers sending Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals are excluded from this measurement. Counts are estimates, not an identification of individual readers.
Hosting, security, and administrator accounts
Our hosting infrastructure processes connection details to deliver and protect the site. Web-server security and access logs may include IP addresses, request URLs, browser details, and timestamps. Administrator accounts use WordPress authentication cookies. Public account registration and comments are disabled. Site backups contain published content, administrator records, settings, and the database; routine backups are kept for 14 days on the server.
Advertising and your choices
Google AdSense code is enabled on eligible editorial pages. Our site application is under review; ads may not appear until Google approves the site. Google and its advertising partners may collect IP addresses, device identifiers, browsing information, and cookie or similar storage data for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and, when permitted, personalized advertising.
We have published Google consent messages for the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and opt-out messages for supported U.S. states. Where applicable, use the message to consent, decline, manage options, or select “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” The “Privacy & cookie choices” footer link reopens the available Google consent message on pages where its interface has loaded. If it brings you here instead, return to a guide and use the privacy interface displayed there; browser settings or blockers may prevent it from loading.

Contact and external links
Email you choose to send contains the information you provide and is handled by our email provider. We use it to respond to your request. Links to universities and other sites open services with their own privacy practices.
Your choices and requests
You can clear locally saved garden information in your browser, use supported DNT or GPC settings to opt out of our audience measurement, and contact us about information you have provided directly. Do not send sensitive personal details with a routine gardening question.
